DOJ search of Biden’s Delaware home results in 6 more documents

Bauer added that Justice Department officials requested that the search not be made public in advance, in accordance with its standard procedures, and that the president’s legal team agreed to cooperate.

The president and first lady Jill Biden were not present for the search.

“The President’s lawyers and White House Counsel’s Office will continue to cooperate with DOJ and the Special Counsel to help ensure this process is conducted swiftly and efficiently,” Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president, said in a separate statement Saturday evening.

The search was part of a special counsel investigation into the president’s handling of classified materials found in November at his office in Washington and in December and January at his home in Wilmington. The new discovery marks the second time that more secretive government material was uncovered after White House officials deemed searches of the president’s property complete.
